One of the most fundamental skills a lawyer must learn is how to properly counsel his/her client. Client counselling begins from the first meeting and flows through every step of the case. Sometimes, it even continues after the case is over.

In order to effectively counsel your client when emotions are involved, a lawyer has to be able to let their clients express emotion but still gather facts and present the client with legal options to guide the case. The following skills will be discussed in detail during the workshop:

3.     Active Listening

4.     Retainership

5.     Managing/ Asking for Stipend

All participants will learn these 5 skills over the course of 3 days and will also learn to apply them on legal problems.
